![]() About Tad BowmanWelcome to the website, and the online photographic collection of Tad Bowman. This website is a collection of nature photography. Landscapes are the predominant subject. I reside in Colorado; therefore there is a larger portion of photos dedicated to Colorado Photography. I do visit the Grand Tetons in Wyoming, the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee, and the Southwest on an annual basis. Thus, you can expect to see Wyoming Photography, Tennessee Photography, and to a greater extent Utah Photography populate with images too. I shoot with Canon's professional EOS 1DsMII camera body. Additionally, I shoot with Canon's 16-35mm L series,24-70 mm L series, and 70-200 mm L series professional lenses. I have a large assortment of Singh-Ray Gradual Neutral Density filters, a Hoya Pro Ultra Slim Polarizer, and a Velbon carbon fiber tripod with a Manfrotto pan and tilt head. Finally, I'm using a Clik Pro Elite Backpack to haul my large load of gear around and I own a Mountainsmith backpack for day hikes (and to include my gear). Growing up, I spent a lot of time outdoors. As a kid, my parents would turn me loose in the morning (in the rural country) and I wouldn't come back until evening. Throughout college, I spent a lot of time hiking in the Smoky Mountain National Park. I took a lot of snapshots to remind me of the adventures I took and the amazing scenery I encountered. I moved to Colorado and marveled over the Rocky Mountains. I was hooked and loved the overwhelming choices and adventures that were available to me. It was then that I got really serious about photography because I wanted to paint a picture for myself of the adventures I took so I could relive them everytime I stared at them. Now, I do day hikes, backpack, and do roadside photography to capture scenics. I focus primarily on mountain pictures The goal of my photography is to capture the beauty of nature around us. Each year, I research and plan new areas to see. There is so much to see and I'm thankful for state and federal protection of so many wilderness areas. In these locations, I strive to capture those moments in such a way that it reminds me how it felt to be there. My hope is that the photos will take you to each location and offer you an opportunity to experience the beauty of each scene and appreciate the land we live in and around. Some awards my work has been given include:
• Honorable Mention: Outdoor Photographer’s 2007 Your Favorite Places Photo Contest You can also follow me at my blog: Should you have any questions or comments, feel free to contact me. I will respond to all inquiries as soon as possible. Thank you for visiting.
